Bella was a golden retriever who spent fourteen years doing one thing better than anyone: being there. Every morning by the door before the alarm went off. Every evening when the day had been too much. She never needed a reason.
When she passed, the house felt different in a way that's hard to explain unless you've lived it. The quiet where her tail used to thump. The spot by the door that stayed empty.
